About the Program

Connecting Classrooms
to Local Careers

What's So Cool About Manufacturing? (WSCAM) is a statewide student video competition that connects K–12 classrooms with local manufacturers. Student teams visit a partner company, learn about modern manufacturing processes, and produce a short video — telling the story of that workplace in their own words.

In Schuylkill County, IU29 has coordinated local WSCAM participation since 2017. Over that time, student teams from more than a dozen schools have produced videos featuring local employers — showcasing the real career opportunities that exist right here in our region.

STEM@Skook29 sees WSCAM as more than a competition — it's a model for the kind of school-employer connection that builds a stronger regional STEM ecosystem for the long term.
